Whether for personal or professional use, it is important to capture your stories and use them to inform, educate and entertain. In this workshop, you will be given a host of worksheets to mine your stories. This session can be offered to business owners or as a tool to inspire the elderly to write their memoirs. Developing and Delivering an Effective Elevator Speech
In this session, we will use a one-page worksheet to develop an effective Elevator Speech. Participants will then deliver their 30-second commercial to each other and continue to refine it throughout their message in this interactive session. Must bring business cards.
Punctuate Your Presentations
A Gallup Poll shows that public speaking terrifies 96 million of us and comes out tops as our greatest fear. In this session, participants will learn how get over that fear and put more power and punch into their talks. An effective opener, gestures, voice intonation, timing of the talk and delivering a wrap-around close will be stressed.
Somewhere along the way, you will likely be called upon to moderate a professional panel discussion or company meeting. Learn how to properly introduce and thank speakers, how to keep a program moving, and how to handle the question-and-answer portion of the program.
No More Death by Lecture
Based on the popular book by Sharon Bowman, participants will learn interactive methods to get messages across to an array of audiences while keeping them engaged. During this session, participants will learn how to use dozens of short, quick presentation strategies to energize any audience.
